Revitalization of Mapusa Municipal Market

This project involved enhancing the experience of a visitor to the market.

The revitalisation proposal, thus, encouraged pedestrianisation of all roads upon which the market grew organically. Trenches, for services and drainage, were proposed alongside the roads to ensure a clutter free space.Contrasting colour paving stones were recommended to demarcate space for limited number of road side vendors.

The hawkers currently occupying the roads are proposed to be shifted above the existing shops to create an elevated market linked with bridges thus maintaining the local charm of the market and ensuring continuous and free movement of all- locals and tourists, alike.
